Modern physics develops in tense correlation with such subjects of scientific and technological activity of mankind as informatics, microelectronics, optoelectronics and biotechnology. That express in that even the fundamental physical researches may be rated like real steps for future practical applications. So research objects may in short time become elements of modern devices, for example, computers, telecommunication facilities, sensors and etc. Just such principles for carrying out scientific researches, direct to reveal the basic regularity physical appearances, important for practical employment, are distinctive feature of the work in our collective – at the chair of general physics and molecular electronics. Research works at the chair organized by four scientific tendencies:

• physics of solid nanostuctures ;
• laser physics of the solid body’s surface ;
• molecular physics ;
• solid molecular-ionic sensorica.

Professor P.K. Kashkarov, G.S. Plotnikov and S.N. Kozlov are the leaders of the research groups. Scientific workers of these groups yearly publish 20-30 articles at the international and at the home physical journals and hold large number of reports at international and Russian conferences. It became possible to carry out such active research due to financial support of

• 2. Industry, science and technology department of RF.
• 3. Citizen Research and Development Foundation.
• 4. International programs INTAS and Copernicus.
• 5. German foundations and organizations (AvHumboldt Foundation, DAAD, DPG).

Our chair possesses a wide number of modern experimental techniques. These are different types of optical spectroscopy: photoluminescence, Raman spectroscopy, optical harmonics generation, IR spectroscopy, photoreflectance, ellipsometry. Besides we use electron paramagnetic spectroscopy, mass-spectrometry, field effect, etc. The staff includes 5 doctors and 11 candidates of physical-mathematical sciences while the total number of coworkers is 20.

A number of scientific investigations are carried in cooperation with other chairs of physical department (General Physics and Wave processes, semiconductor physics, physical electronics, physics of crystals and polymers, etc), leading institutes of Russian Academy of Sciences (Physical Institute of RAS, Institute of General Physics, Institute of Crystallography, Institute of Solid Body Physics, Institute of Chemical Physics as well as with scientific organizations and Universities of Germany, Spain, Greece, France, Italy, USA, China and India.
